Description

The coursework will consist of a minimum of 30 credit hours, depending on the program pursued. The degree program will consist of a minimum of 4 semesters of academic study.

There are two options of coursework:

Option I concentrates on teh core subjects in mathematics and is primarily designed to prepare students for summunity college teaching, entry-level positions in industry, or future graduate work in mathematics.

Option II emphasizes Applied Mathematics and is designated to prepare students for entry-level positions in industry, business, government, or for future graduate work in applied mathematics.

Requirements

The University requires that applicants have an undergraduate degree with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 units. Additionally, all applicants must satisfy the University's Upper Division Writing Proficiency Requirements, as described in the catalog.

The Mathematics Department requires that applicants have grades of B or better in the following upper-division mathematics classes: Advanced Calculus (equivalent to CSUN Math 350), and Advanced Linear Algebra (equivalent to CSUN Math 462)
