Description
Education: Option in Curriculum and Instruction (MA): The coursework consists of a minimum of 30 units (credit hours) and 3 semesters of resident academic study. Students complete 18 units or 1 year of study prior to Peace Corps service and 6 units of professional field experience and research while serving in the Peace Corps. Master?s candidates may opt for either a thesis/project or a comprehensive exam upon their return.
Teaching International Languages-TESOL (MA): The coursework consists of a minimum of 36 units (credit hours) and 3 semesters of resident academic study plus any additional semesters needed to complete prerequisites. Students complete 24 units or 1 year of study prior to Peace Corps Service and 6 units of professional field experience while serving in the Peace Corps. Upon satisfactory completion of coursework, students obtain a TESOL certificate. Master?s candidates may opt to finish a thesis/project or comprehensive examination upon their return.
Requirements
A bachelor?s degree from a 4-year accredited institution is required; The MA Option in Curriculum and Instruction requires a writing sample for admission.
