Become a Partner School
The Peace Corps MI program invites institutions to participate in mutually beneficial partnerships that reflect and respond to the growing need for an academic and global perspective. Established in 1987, the goals of MI are twofold: to meet the increasing demand overseas for Peace Corps Volunteers with high levels of education and technical expertise, and to allow universities to provide substantive, internationally focused experiences for their students.
Since its inception in 1961, the Peace Corps has enjoyed a productive relationship with institutions of higher education. MI takes those relationships a step further by actually incorporating academic learning with the Peace Corps Volunteer experience. Peace Corps has partnerships with more than 80 leading academic institutions that offer more than 150 degree programs. The degree programs range from TESOL to soil science and public health and reflect the needs of host communities.
By becoming an MI partner school, you will help to meet the need for skilled men and women overseas, attract high-caliber students, and give your students the opportunity to gain practical experiences that will allow them to be competitive in their fields of interest.
