"I identify myself as a lesbian and have done so since my early years. Going into my service I knew that I would need to build ‘confianza’ with my community. As such, while I served as a Volunteer in El Salvador I chose not to disclose my sexual orientation to my training family or host community. However, I still remained and felt very much like myself."
