Mali
Peace Corps temporarily suspended its volunteer activities in Mali in April 2012.
More than 2,600 Peace Corps volunteers have served in Mali since the program was established in 1971. Volunteers work in the areas of education, environment, agriculture, health and business. Volunteers are trained and work in the following languages: Bambara, Bomu, Dogon, French, Fulfudé, Khassonke, Malinke, Minianka, Senoufou, Sonrai, Soninke and Tamashek.
