Finding Her Way to the Peace Corps at Age 60
In a “Make it Better” article, Returned Peace Corps/Albania Volunteer Margaret Sheridan explains that “Peace Corps is ageless. What binds together the volunteers is living out the volunteer lifestyle.”
She goes on to explain her work as an English teacher in Albania and how “forging friendships with younger volunteers came easily.” Although Margaret’s younger Peace Corps “colleagues pined for McDonalds, Starbucks and Taco Bell,” she “longed for a vodka martini.” When they “downloaded Jack Johnson” for Margaret, Margaret “introduced them to Chet Baker.”
