Degrees Awarded: Master of Public Health (MPH)
Admissions Deadlines: Completed applications received by the MPH office before December 20th will be considered, and a determination mailed to the applicant, by January 30th. Completed applications received before February 15th will be reviewed and a determination mailed by March 15th. The final deadline for application submission is April 30th.
Admissions Cycle: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Program Start: Students admitted to Penn’s MPH matriculate and begin course work in the fall term.

Benefits
Peace Corps Fellows will receive assistance in locating internships at local nonprofit, public, and private organizations in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. Fellows receive a one-time $6,000 scholarship towards tuition. Once matriculated, students also are able to apply to the MPH Program for an additional merit/need-based scholarship.
Description
Penn’s MPH program is a generalist curriculum concentrating on the core public health sciences. Students may use their 6 elective credits to pursue public health interests in accordance with an individualized plan of study. Public Health elective offerings are available across the university in global health, epidemiology, anthropology, health communication, environmental sciences, health policy, law, and more. Requirements
- A completed Penn MPH application form
- Recent (within the past 5 years) scores on one of the following standardized tests:
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
- Medical College Admissions Tests (MCAT)
- Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)
- Law School Admissions Test (LSAT)
- Dental School Admissions Test (DSAT)
- Note: Consideration will be given to waiving the standardized test requirement for applicants with at least a master’s degree in a relevant field
- Official transcripts of previously completed undergraduate and graduate course work
- Evidence of quantitative ability (usually demonstrated by scores on the quantitative section of the GRE or successful (i.e. B or better) completion of graduate-level quantitative and science courses such as biostatistics and epidemiology)
- Up-to-date resume or curriculum vitae or resume
- Three recommendations from individuals who can attest to suitability for graduate study and to interest in public health (see application packet for standard forms). References from individuals who can attest to the applicant's academic and/or professional accomplishments are preferred.
- A personal statement outlining the applicant's field of interest in public health, and the academic and/or professional background that brought the applicant to wish to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of public health.
- Evidence of work or volunteer experience related to public health
- A check or money order in the amount of $70, payable to the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania
