Description
The purpose of the Master of Arts in Cross-Cultural and International Education (MACIE) degree is to prepare professional educators to be effective leaders in the internationalization of schools and communities and to be positive facilitators of cross-cultural understanding. The focus of this degree program is to prepare a global educator who is able to: serve as a leader in internationalizing curriculum, foster international educational partnerships, and infuse education policy and practices with cross-cultural awareness. The program connects issues of cultural and international understanding with educational theory and practice through a unique combination of courses from several disciplines on the BGSU campus. Students gain the academic basis for their program from select courses in the College of Education and Human Development and the College of Arts and Sciences. The students then apply this academic foundation to a practical cross-cultural internship experience, followed by a research-based cap-stone experience.
