Dan and Jillian Kearney
Macedonia, 2007 - 2009
After finishing their graduate programs in the education at the University of Rhode Island, Dan and Jillian Kearney decided to combine their professional pursuits with their need for adventure by becoming Peace Corps Volunteers. Dan, 31, hails from Maine and spent six years serving in the U.S. Navy. Jillian, 29, calls southern California home and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Redlands. Both are accredited teachers serving as English teachers in the Republic of Macedonia.

John Guy LaPlante
Ukraine, 2007 - 2009
John Guy LaPlante, 80, is currently one of the the Peace Corps' oldest Volunteers. A Deep River, Conneticut Native, he's putting his lifetime of experience as a journalist and author to good use teaching university-level English in Ukraine.

Avi Richman
Nicaragua, 2008 - 2010
Avi Richman, 25, has always been fascinated by unique places, different cultures and foreign languages. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, he chose Peace Corps in order to better understand the challenges facing the developing world and fulfill his responsibility to help out his fellow human beings. He is currently a small business Volunteer in Nicaragua, where he enjoys trying to integrate into a new culture, chatting with the locals, eating gallo pinto, and sitting next to his fan.
