Smithsonian FolkLife Festival: Johnny and his Georgian counterpart will be demonstrating and promoting the traditions of Georgian wine-making and explaining why it still remains a relevant part of their culture and identity. They will teach guests Georgian toasts, display local handmade wine pitchers, and invite the public to partake in grape stomping. Johnny hopes to "better inform western cultures about the birthplace of wine where Georgia's rich traditions date back over 8,000 years."
